Reading Rooms provide quiet areas for prayer and Bible study or research, for research on the Founder of Christian Science. directories of people in the public practice of Christian Science healing, and computer access to websites on prayer and Bible-based healing, including JSH-Online, Mary Baker Eddy Library site, and Australia-wide church sites. In most Reading Rooms the award-winning newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor is available either in print or online at csmonitor.comand they are also a sales point for most editions of the Bible, authorised Christian Science texts and DVDs.

Christian Science Reading Rooms are the major outlets for Mary Baker Eddy's seminal Bible study text Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
